Personal Information:
Attorney Sorenson is the owner and principal of Sorenson Law Office with offices in Ripon and Laona, Wisconsin. As a lawyer, Attorney Sorenson has served in many capacities with the State Bar of Wisconsin, chairing several of the State Bar Standing Committees, including the Finance, Solo and Small Firm, Communications, Convention and Entertainment Committees. He served as Secretary from 1994-96, and President from 1997-98 of the State Bar of Wisconsin. Attorney Sorenson is currently Past-President of the National Conference of Bar Presidents, where he previously served for many years as a member of the Executive Council. Steve is a former member of the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association. Currently, he is a member of the American Bar Association Law Foundation and was recently selected as a Fellow of the ABA Law Foundation. He is past-president of the Wisconsin Law Foundation Fellows and a member of the foundation Board of Trustees.
Attorney Sorenson chairs the District Three Office of Laywer Regulation Committees and serves on the ethics committee of the ABA Legal Education Committee and as program director for the Senior Lawyers Division of the ABA. He has presented seminars on legal ethics at various state, regional and national programs. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Community Health Network (CHN) and has become increasingly involved in rural health care programs.
Attorney Sorenson also teaches media law, law and land use, and constitutional law at Ripon College and is a frequent lecturer on real estate law. He has written many articles on Land Use Management and Control. Steve currently serves as a consultant on Smart Growth projects throughout Wisconsin.
